The advantages of automatic cannabis seeds
Seeds that automatically flower can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse. Due to their extremely strong genetic lineage, they evolved the ability to flower at will in order to survive. Additionally they are very hardy and resistant to fungal infections, mould, pests and even frost. Autoflower seeds grow from seedling to mature female plants in around 10 weeks, making them a fast cropping, convenient, alternative to traditional varieties with excellent adaptations to the cold. The cannabis they produce is just as good as that from traditional cannabis strains. All the seeds are feminized and are bred to offer different flavours and aromas.
Yield factors for autoflowering seed strains
The general rule is that the greater the light intensity, the better the result and 18 hours of light is optimal. However, these seeds are capable of producing reasonably sized yields even with a less intense light source and in short summers. Whether using artificial light or sunlight, care and attention are required in matters of timing the plants exposure to it, and ensuring that the hours of darkness is really dark. Otherwise you would ‘confuse’ the plants as to whether they are supposed to be vegetating or blooming.
Autoflowering varieties are grown indoors under a cycle of 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark. They give great results in greenhouses and outdoors.
Traditional varieties need a lighting system of 12 hours on and 12 hours off in order to induce flowering. Autoflowering varieties flower indoors based on their age and are normally ready to harvest 10-11 weeks after germinating. Unlike normal feminized seeds, Autoflower’s will bloom automatically regardless of the light cycle and of how long the days are. They seem to be immune to light pollution and can tolerate irregular and unpredictable periods of light and darkness with ease, whether they are indica or sativa.
